Individual Therapy

For those pursuing depth,
awareness, and freedom

For nearly three decades, I’ve sat with people seeking relief from all types of pain:

It’s been an honor to bear witness and tend to my clients’ wounds, to be trusted with their most private vulnerabilities. And I’ve been so moved by their creative capacity to survive, overcome, and evolve.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

-Maya Angelou

My Practice

I work with adults of all backgrounds and identities, and I value the intricate links between a person’s mind, body, behavior and culture.

My approach is primarily psychodynamic, and I specialize in the areas of gender, sexuality and intimate relationships. I have extensive experience working with men around issues of masculinity, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and survivors of sexual violence.

I’m also trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which has deepened my appreciation for how the body stores trauma, and enhanced my capacity to help people heal by mindfully attending to their bodies’ messages.

Getting started

If you’re interested in talking about your specific situation and how we might work best together, I encourage you to reach out.

We’ll spend a little time on the phone discussing what you’re looking for, and I can answer any questions you may have. After that, if it makes sense, we’ll schedule an initial session or two so I can begin to get a fuller sense of both your present circumstances and your history. And you can start to get a feel for how I work.

From there, we’ll decide together if it feels like a good fit between us and how best to move forward.

Typically, I meet with individuals once or twice a week. I may also recommend pairing individual sessions with group psychotherapy. I’m a Certified Group Psychotherapist and have found that the two approaches combined can be incredibly powerful depending on your needs and goals.

“And now you are and I am and we’re a mystery which will never happen again.”
